What is an Uber Japan card?

An Uber card for Japan is prepaid credit for rides in JPY, issued for Japan. Uber gift cards add credit to an Uber account. The credit can pay for rides and for Uber Eats orders, subject to the program terms.

Uber's rider FAQ says the balance is for the country where the card was bought. Redeemed credit can't be moved to another account.

Check the intended journey before buying credit

Uber gift cards are added to an Uber account rather than used as a general-purpose transport payment card. The official rider FAQ says an account is required and that redeemed balance cannot be transferred to another account. Confirm which rider will use the value before applying a code. A gift intended for an airport journey, a family profile or travel abroad needs a closer program check than simply matching the amount with an estimated fare.
