Redeeming a Google Play Hong Kong code

Google limits how often the Play country can be changed, so set it before redeeming a card, not after.

Google's own help page has the current details: Google Play Help: redeem and review the receiving account.

• Open the Google Play redeem page or the Play Store app.
• Choose Redeem gift code and enter the code.
• Check which Google account will receive the balance, then confirm.

You can pick from 150 HKD, 200 HKD, 500 HKD, and 1,000 HKD. The jump from 200 to 500 HKD is the biggest in the list; for a sum in between you would combine two cards. About Google Play gift cards

Check the country and currency together

Google says Play gift cards can only be redeemed and used in the country and currency in which they were purchased. The account country must match the market where the code is offered. Treat these as separate checks from the price an independent store charges in USD. A card with a familiar logo or a similarly named dollar currency is not a substitute for reading the issuing country. Confirm the intended account's Play settings before choosing a variant for yourself or someone else.
