PlayStation wallet credit or a Plus voucher?
A cash value and a membership period solve different needs. Choose the voucher type first, then check the accountโs country and any existing Plus plan.

Choose the result you want
PlayStation identifies wallet balance, game content and subscriptions as different voucher uses. A Store gift card adds wallet funds. If your goal is to contribute toward a purchase, compare the cash amount with the current price of that item on the recipientโs Store.
If your goal is a specific membership, start with the plan and duration written on the voucher. Do not infer subscription months from the picture of a Store card. Record the desired result in one sentence before comparing offers: money to spend, one particular game, or membership access.

An existing Plus plan changes the calculation
PlayStationโs voucher guide explains that a matching plan can add time, a higher plan can upgrade an existing membership, and a lower-plan voucher can convert into time on the current higher plan. The result therefore depends on what the account already has.
Check the current subscription page with the recipient, then read the conversion guidance for the exact voucher. Avoid calculating days from an old price chart. Also check the payment schedule after the voucher period: the initial period does not necessarily describe the later renewal frequency.

Find the account country before checkout
In PlayStation Account Management, open Your Information and edit Residential Address to see the account country. PlayStation says this country cannot be changed after account creation. A consoleโs location or interface language is not a reliable replacement for checking that field.
Compare the account country with the voucherโs named region. For a gift, ask the recipient to confirm the country themselves; you do not need their password. If the answer is unclear, keep the purchase on hold instead of assuming two cards with similar currency symbols are equivalent.

Redeem on the account that should receive it
PlayStationโs web instructions use the profile menu in PlayStation Store and the Redeem Code option. Check the signed-in identity before submitting. Funds and content cannot simply be moved between accounts after redemption, so the account check belongs before entering the code.
